China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition Q&A
I. How do contestants register in the competition?
Eligible participants may login the official website of China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition (website: www.itcsz.cn) to register. The official website is the only channel of registration and any other channel shall be invalid.
II. What are the requirements for participation?
1. Overseas entrepreneurial teams or individuals with achievements of innovation;
2. Participants plan to register an enterprise in Shenzhen within six months upon the competition;
3. Products, technologies or relevant patents involved in the participating projects belong to participants without any IP dispute with others and any liabilities for infringement shall be borne by the participants;
4. Those who have won prizes in previous competitions held overseas by Shenzhen and domestic or international prizes of previous China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competitions shall not participate in this competition.
III. What are the fields engaged in the competition?
Participating projects should correspond to Shenzhen’s industrial and technical policies with a high level of innovation, strong market competitiveness and potential economic and social benefits. They should be innovative and creative projects which tend to result in hi-tech achievements of emerging industries with core technology, complete intellectual property right and high added values.
The competition mainly consists of five categories by industry: Internet and Mobile Internet (Information Technology), Electronic Technology, Biology and Life Science, Advanced Manufacturing, Materials and Energy (including Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection). In addition, in response to Shenzhen’s focus on future industrial development, the competition has set up two professional competitions of the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence .
IV. When is the deadline for registration?
Registration for the competition will be closed on February 29, 2020.
V. How do participants register for Professional Competitions and what are the procedures of the competition?
(I) Registration for Professional Competitions:
Eligible participants login the official website of China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition (website: www.itcsz.cn) to register. Participants who will participate in the Professional Competitions of the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence shall simply tick the corresponding profession during registration without having to register separately to enter Professional Preliminary and get the chance of competing for the prize of Professional Finals and Finals.
(II) Professional Competitions:
Professional Competitions will be carried out in two rounds.
The first round will be Professional Preliminary, in which the top 15 participants of each profession will be chosen to compete in Professional Finals based on the ranking of professional scores.
The second round will be Professional Finals, in which selected projects will compete in the two professions respectively and professional judges will determine on the first, second and third prizes by judging on road shows and Q&A sessions. The top three participants of each profession will enter the Finals. Participants are allowed to enter both Professional Finals and Industrial Finals and win prizes for both if they perform with equal excellence. However, such participants shall participate in the Finals representing only one of them.
VI. Are winners of previous competitions allowed to register for this competition?
Those who have won prizes in previous competitions held overseas by Shenzhen and domestic or international prizes of previous China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competitions shall not participate in this competition.
VII. Is there any cost for participating in the international competition?
No fees will be charged for participation.
VIII. When will participants be allowed to compete upon registration?
Please duly follow the official website of the competition and your competition status upon the registration deadline. The organization of each division competition will contact you as well.
Division Preliminary and Finals: March 2020;
Professional Preliminary: March 2020;
Professional Finals: April 9, 2020;
Industrial Finals: April 10, 2020;

Professional Competition Q&A
1. Professional Competitions and Overseas Division Competitions are different competition events, startups may apply for either or both.
2. Startups can win prizes from both Overseas Division Competitions and Professional Competitions at the same time.
3. Professional Competitions consist of Preliminary of Professional Competitions and Professional Finals. Only if startups get promotions from Preliminary of Professional Competitions can startups enter Professional Finals.
