About
Luohu District

Luohu District is the first built-up area in Shenzhen. Situated in the south-central part of Shenzhen, it is geographically close to Hong Kong, with deep people-to-people bonds and interconnected landscapes. It serves as an "emotional pier" linking Shenzhen and Hong Kong and a "bridge and bond" for Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation. The district enjoys unique transportation advantages, home to two major high-speed rail hubs - Shenzhen Railway Station and Luohubei  Station, and three closely connected ports- Luohu, Wenjindu and Liantang. It is an important hub connecting Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, radiating to the Pearl River Delta, and serving the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Luohu District boasts a beautiful and livable environment, featuring an ecological pattern of "Half Landscape, Half City". It is home to "one mountain, four lakes and one reservoir" (Wutong Mountain National Scenic Area, Xianhu Lake, Honghu Lake, Donghu Lake, Yinhu Lake, and Shenzhen Reservoir) as well as 111 parks including Donghu Park. It has been awarded the honorary titles of "New Era · China's Most Beautiful Ecological Livable City" and "New Era · China's Most Beautiful Ecological City with Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains", making it the only administrative district in Shenzhen to win the "dual city" honor of China's most beautiful cities.

Luohu District's industrial structure is dominated by the tertiary industry, contributing to 94% of its total economy. Finance, commerce and trade, and business services are its pillar industries, making it a traditional hub of finance, commerce and trade. Its two characteristic industries "cultural and creative industries + gold and jewelry industries" shine brightly. Shuibei, a nationally renowned cluster for jewelry industry, sees active gold and jewelry trading, and the vigorous development of cultural and creative industries has injected new vitality into Shuibei. In recent years, Luohu has vigorously developed the "2+2+N" emerging industries, focusing on two strategic emerging industries (artificial intelligence, and life and health) and two future industries (low-altitude and aero-space), and promoting the development of a series of high-growth and high-value-added emerging business forms. It is accelerating the cultivation and development of new quality productive forces to drive the leapfrog development of strategic emerging industries.

Standing at a new historical starting point, Luohu District is striving to build the "Three Forces and Three Zones": a core area of the international consumption center with global trend-setting power, a pilot zone for Shenzhen-Hong Kong integrated development with global resource allocation capacity, and a demonstration zone for the clustering of modern service industries with international market reach. In the future, this vibrant land will continue to shine and write a more brilliant chapter in Shenzhen's development blueprint.
